Masks

Respro® anti-smog masks were invented in the UK and have been manufactured there since 1993. The development of respiratory protection masks proved to be a real revolution, and such products are becoming increasingly popular worldwide. Respro® produces masks for everyday use and sports models in many variants.

From the very beginning, Respro has attached great importance to both the build quality of its products and ensuring proper protection against airborne pollutants. As early as December 1996, the company obtained an EC test certificate confirming compliance with the then applicable EU Directive 89/686/EEC and EN 149:1991. This year, in turn, tests were completed for compliance with EN 149: 2001 + A1:2019 confirming Protection Class FFP1 for reusable masks. This resulted in certification of EU conformity with Regulation 2016/425 replacing Directive 89/686/EEC. The above quality certificates are important for users due to the availability on the Polish market of a number of products without any confirmation of protection which, in view of the level of contamination and its harmfulness to health, is of great importance.

Everyday anti-smog masks are an excellent option for people who spend a lot of time in dusty conditions, commute by public transport or want to protect themselves from the harmful effects of fumes or allergens. At a time when smog has become a real problem, this type of mask can be extremely useful in providing maximum comfort and protection of the respiratory tract against toxic substances, gases, dust and bacteria, viruses and fungi. Everyday masks are worth putting on when walking on city streets, on the way to work, when cycling or riding a scooter, and wherever exhaust fumes, pollution, cigarette smoke or allergens prevent a comfortable existence. Respro® masks are especially useful for people suffering from various types of allergies, children and young people and all people for whom health is a priority.

Sports masks are ideal for people who do their favourite outdoor activities. Runners, cyclists and inline skaters are particularly at risk of inhaling harmful substances, as breathing rates increase during exercise, significantly affecting the amount of pollutants entering the lungs. Contrary to appearances, this is not only a problem for people living in large cities - in suburban and rural areas, we have to deal with large quantities of dust, pollen and microorganisms, which are also not indifferent to health. Exercising with a mask will avoid inhaling dangerous chemicals and pollutants, making every workout enjoyable and fully beneficial to your health. Sports masks differ from everyday masks primarily in their valve design, the design of which allows for a larger diaphragm stroke, resulting in a greater airflow through the mask - such a solution allows you to breathe freely even during intense workouts and with accelerated breathing.

Respro® masks are distinguished by their very high quality workmanship, attention to aesthetics, comfort and safety of use. The materials and solutions used in them are a guarantee of maximum effectiveness. The success of the Respro® brand is the result of the highest production standards and innovative ideas. Dozens of unique Respro® technologies have made it possible to create a collection of products that meet even the most exacting expectations of consumers. Substitutes appearing on the market cannot boast such high quality and patented solutions available only for products of this brand - that is why, when looking for an ideal anti-smog mask, it is always worth choosing original products signed with the Respro® logo.

Hundreds of thousands of users all over the world are already using anti-smog masks, enjoying their safety and comfort. Respro® masks are available in several sizes and variants, making it easy to fit them to your individual needs.

To consider the effectiveness of the mask, the following points should be taken into account:

  • Does the product seal effectively?

  • Is the filter material effective?

For a mask to be fully effective, a proper seal around the nose and mouth is required so that a significant portion of the inhaled air actually passes through the filter. If the air does not pass through the filter, then even with the most effective filter, the wearer will still inhale unfiltered air.

Sealing

Respro masks are made of neoprene or stretch. As stretch materials, they allow the mask to be easily adapted to different facial features, sealing the mask around the face, thus ensuring a comfortable fit.

Another important sealing consideration is size - sizing. The range of sizes within the adult population varies considerably, one size does not fit all people. We have introduced two sizes that fit 90% of the adult population. A medium and a large size. For an adult woman of average height/weight, a medium size is recommended. Conversely, a large size is recommended for an adult male of average height/weight. By choosing the correct size and following the relevant fitting instructions you can ensure a proper seal.

Masks stretch between the nose and cheekbone, in which case a hollow can form. This gap is not sealed and contaminated air enters through this area, resulting in reduced mask performance. In order to ensure a proper seal in this area, all our masks are equipped with a nose clip that adjusts individually to the shape of the wearer.

In addition, the masks of the Respro CE line are equipped with a head strap to prevent the mask from slipping off and to increase its seal.

Each mask contains a replaceable filter specific to either urban or rural environments. Depending on the environment you are in, you should assess the type of filter you need. At the moment, there are basically 3 types of filter available:

Filter HT 250 - the universal longest-life filter launched in 2019,

Sports Filter - primarily designed for sports applications with slightly better resistance than the HT 250 filter. This filter is available under the following brand names: Cinqro Sport, Allergy Particle and Sports.

Combination Filter - a filter that is a combination of a HEPA-TYPE filter and a DACC (activated carbon) layer. It should be used in areas with very high concentrations of harmful chemicals in the air. This filter is available under the following trade names: Cinqro Urban, Allergy Chemical and Techno Filter.
